I would like to thanks Bollé and Van Der Wal for putting this glasses Bollé Aeromax at my disposal to perform this test.
Bollé Aeromax, the best sunglasses for cycling ?
First impressions
Bollé Aeromax sunglasses are supplied in a beautiful hard case. This case can accommodate not only the glasses but also two more replacement glasses. Indeed, the lenses of Aeromax are interchangeable to fit to the needs of the cyclist and the conditions in which he rides.
The frame of the glasses is well finished with a nice matte black color.
I was fortunate enough to receive the Aeromax with two screens. A Brown Fire Oleo AF screen, intended for high brightness and the second, a Nxt Modulator screen Br Emerald Oleo Af, photochromic adapting to variable brightness.
You switch between the screens by unclipping the branches, the central bar and the nose piece.
The operation is not complicated and is done in a few minutes.
The wearing comfort of the Aeromax is made optimal thanks to the branches that bend to fit to the morphology of the cyclist and the adjustable nose piece.
Cycling use
The wind protection provided by these glasses is excellent. Even in an aerodynamic position on a TT Bike, the screen rises high enough above the eyes for the protection to remain effective.
Thanks to the adjustment of the nose piece and the foldable branches, the sunglasses remain perfectly in place on the face and don't slip on the nose. Even when the sweating on the face is important, they stay in place.
Photochromic lenses are a delight to the everyday ride. Primarily because they adapt to changing lights but also because they don't generate any chromatic distortion. No matter the angle, the vision is clear and without any distortion.
Brown Fire lenses offer very high sun protection for intense brightness. They are perfect for long sunny summer outings.
But what struck me the most about these two lenses are their Oleo and AF treatments.
Oleo treatment is a hydrophobic treatment of lenses that evacuates the rain as soon as it comes into contact with the lens. I had already heard about these treatments but I had never tried them. I was very impressed how effective it was. The rain slides along the screen and your vision remains sharp and clear!
AF treatment is an anti-fog treatment. Even while riding in the rain with a scarf on the mouth and nose, the mist does not form on the glasses. This is the first time I have encountered such an effective anti-fog treatment ...
If in addition to glasses, you have made the choice to ride with the helmet The One from Bollé, you can easily store your Aeromax because they were designed to fit in the helmet box …
In conclusion
Bollé has developed with these Aeromax a great pair of sunglasses for the most demanding cyclists ...
Very high end, both in terms of lenses and mount, wit a price tag that remains competitive.
The quality of vision they provide and the treatment of lenses is really out of this world.
In combination with the helmet Bollé The one, you are ready to face any situations that a cyclist may have to meet during his rides ....
