First impressions

The Signal comes in a classic Leatherman paper box.

Its two yellow side tools catch the eye right away.

It is light and with a high manufacturing quality. You have a real Leatherman in your hand, not a toy.

The modern look may be a little surprising at first, but you'll get used to it very fast. The contrast between the black sleeves, the gray blades and the two yellow accessories is great looking.

Everyday Use

The weight and the volume of the signal are quite light. Worn on the belt in its holster, it is very quickly forgotten. The Signal is equipped with a pocket clip to wear it discreetly into your pocket.

But it also has a carabiner hook that can be attach to a backpack or a harness. Very convenient to have it always within reach even when climbing.

A hawl with a thread loop that you could use to pass a thread in a big tarp for example.

A bit holder, who completed with the Bit Kit, will allow you to literally screw or unscrew everything that exists on the earth! And the cherry on the cake, the Bit Kit fits perfectly in the original holster !

A hammer on the top of Signal to punch back a nail for example. Pretty amazed how well it works.

And for the first time in Leatherman history, the Signal is equipped with a blade sharpener and a ferrocerium rod.

With the sharpener, thanks to its curved shape, you will be able to sharpen the straight blade but also the serrated part.

The ferrocerium rod is very efficient and gives big nice sparks, enough to light an emergency fire.

Held in a one hand, you will hit it with the back of the saw to spray the sparks.

An emergency whistle is also present on the top.

Personally, I feared that those two accessories would not hold on right on the Signal. But absolutely not. Once properly clipped, they are no risk that they accidentally detach.

And if unfortunately you lose one, no worries, you can buy a new one in the accessory line of Leatherman.
